Vitamin B6 and Vitamin C essential for the natural synthesis of Dopamine

While writing a post i found that the term " dopaminergic " would be adequate to use in the context but i didn't enough about this term to use it comfortably. So i went to wiki and started reading :

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dopaminergic

Thus , i stumbled upon the fact that two precursors to dopamine in the human body Phenylalanine and Tyrosine , depend on vitamins C and B6 to complete the synth to dopamine . I further researched " dopamine " on wiki and found that one of the two main ways dopamine is biosynthesised in humans is by means of L-Tyrosine , so vitamins C and B6 seem to have a quite important on at least one main way of dopamine biosynthesis.

Edit:Upon later googling , i found that vitamin B6 also plays a role in serotonine biosynthesis ( from tryptophan ) and norepinephrine and GABA biosynthesis .

I knew vitamins in general are very important , especially the C vitamin and B range of vitamins .But i had absolutely no idea of their effect on dopamine and i think it has many implications , especially in the context of today's eating habits , which often cause vitamin defficiencies .

One implication would be that because the adequate presence of these vitamins facilitates the production of dopamine in the human body , an adequate dose of these vitamins would probably increase the production of dopamine and thus the effect of dopaminergic drugs such as cocaine , amphetamines , etc. Especially regarding the fact that many users of dopaminergic drugs neglect a healthy diet and most probably have a defficiency of vitamins . The adequate presence of these vitamins might also ensure a more rapid recovery after the use of dopaminergic drugs , since the body would replenish dopamine faster.

Another implication would be that even in non-drug-using people , ensuring an adequate quantity of these two vitamins could increase the usual dopamine production range for that person , considering that there was a defficiency before . Maybe , even it there wasn't a defficiency , a surplus might still facilitate dopamine production even more ,but i wouldn't bet on it .

Possible results : in both cases , potentially happier people through a natural ,widely available method : administration of adequate quantities of the vitamins C and B6 .

Of course , an adequate dose of L-Tyrosine would , obviosuly , be crucial as well . Again , obtainable through healthy diet and supplements.

Also , vitamins and aminoacids in general are very necesary for normal functioning of the human body , so you can't go wrong by ensuring an adequate quantity of these.

Throughout this post i kept emphasizing ADEQUATE quantities . Adequate means not excessive . I don't want anyboy racing to the pharmacy and start pouring too much vitamins or L-Tyrosine in their bodies . Anything in excess is potentially harmful , and some vitamins are particularly toxic and harmfull when taken in excess. Also , aminoacids and proteins in excess might be hard on the kidneys ,might change the blood pH towards a more acidic value and might have a negative effect on the density of bones, through Calcium leaching with the purpose of counteracting the acidic pH value . ( although the latter is not generally agreed upon , because this effect was mainly studied on bodybuilders with particularly high protein diets and bodybuilders have extra dense bones because of their extensive weight training ) .

P.S : All of these implications are just a personal theory . If anyone knows more on the subject or feels i'm wrong , please correct me .
