Swim has been on 2mg of klonopin and 2mg of lorazepam for the past 2 months. It's starting to seem that swim needs more then just one pill to help him feel as anxiety free as he was in the beginning.

The problem that swim is facing is that he is only 17 years old, and his psychiatrist will not prescribe him more medicine unless swims parents allow it. Well, after swim talked to his parents about it, they said that swim can't get a dose change.

What should swim do? He wants to speak to his psychiatrist privately, but swims psychiatrist always brings in swim's parents when he starts discussing medicine.

Only 17? So you're fibbing in your profile? See you in a year!

How long does tolerance to benzos in general take to lessen? SWIM seems to have developed a tolerance from temazepam and chlordiazepoxide. SWIM is thinks he can go a few days without benzos w/o being too troubled. Limited meds, can't afford to allow much of a tolerance to develop. SWIM has a bad feeling that they aren't like opiates in that you can take 7 days and detox and lose a huge amount of tolerance...

EDIT: tolerance not really a problem until daily chlordiazepoxide was scripted daily... before this SWIM would develop tolerance to the temazepam in a few days, but just go a few days without it and tolerance mostly diminished. All of a sudden tolerance is through the roof. While it may lack euphoric qualities and certainly not be very powerful in comparison with other benzos... I think the actual strength of the drug has a tendancy to be greatly underestimated. SWIM for one doesn't want to keep having to raise dosage and raise dosage, however the chlordiazepoxide only seemed to work much if SWIM took it daily and after it built up in my system it would begin to start working... active metabolites the reason?
