SWIM had been surfing these forums and various other sources looking for Xanax potentiators. He realizes that alcohol is a potentiator, but may not want to drink. He read alot about grapefruit juice being a potentiator for benzodiazopines, but not Xanax in particular. SWIM was wondering if taking say, 2-3 tums on an empty stomach 30-45 before popping a safe and standard (recreational) dose of Xanax would possibly potentiate the effects?

He also mentioned he would be smoking herb throughout the night.

Grapefruit juice will potentiate xanax. Never heard of antacids being an effective potentiater of benzos.

Antacid are only useful for potentiating salts like oxycodone hydrochloride, amphetamine sulphate and MDMA hydrochloride.
Grapefruit juice does indeed potentiate triazolo benzodiazepines, the group of benzodiazepines which alprazolam belongs to.

Thanks for the help. SWIM had no grapefruit juice and maybe though that these would also work.
