Hows the battle going. Thats great that you can enjoy life sober. I used to be at the point of drinking a 5th of whiskey around every other day. Now I only drink about twice a month but I binge drink those nights . I have absulotly no control after 5 shots.
Anyone have any tips for an binge drinker. I'd like to drink but simply cant trust myself to. Any alcoholics that found anything that helped them quit. Any help would be cool

Its a difficult thing to overcome. However, if you have trouble once you start, the best advise I can give is to stay away from it. I used to be a big drinker. I was the same way. It took quite a few years of avoiding it, before I could have a drink, and stick to one or two. Some people never can. I dont even really have that much of desire to drink anymore. Well, I do, but I keep it to special occasions now. When I actually quit, I replaced it with massive amounts of different teas. A mild kratom tea might help with this.</font>

That's just because I had the most problems with it. I know I can never drink again successfully and I don't want to. i do entertain the idea of using glass every once in a while. Being sober is a whole new way of life. Very very different.</TD></TR>

In my state's jail system, alcohol is the ONLY withdrawl that
they'll give you any medication to help with. I kicked H there
and it was not easy with not even an ibuprofen to help the aches,
but inmates who are assumed to go into DTs get Librium which is a
benzodiazepine. I bet that they would not give the alcoholics
anything unless it was a liability issue (cheap inhumane fucks), due to
the potential for fatal withdrawl symtoms from GABA-affecting drugs
(alcohol, GHB, benzos). I once read that 3 times as many people
die from benzo WD than from overdose.<!--

It would surprise me that so many people would take quiting that far. When I first quit drinking, in college, I had DTs, chills, sweats and even hallucinated. Scary shit!

Please tels us in greater detail about n-acetyl cysteine
and silimaryn. Isn't silimaryn the stuff in Scizandria (sp?)
berries that's supposed to help rebuild the liver and helps people with
alcohol issues as well as hepatitis?
