i've never f**ked with heroin or any opiate, and i doubt i ever will. but the music of alice in chains and nirvana is basically the soundtrack of my life.. i just posted this to say , if you haven't already, put on some unplugged Alice in Chains (download '"nutshell unplugged"if you're sampling) layne staley of alice in chains recently died... 34, in his apartment, alone, and noone even realised he was dead for 2 weeks.. so if you like raw and sincere music, really try alice in chains

yeah...elliot smith is awesome!!!! talk about raw honest music about H and just lifes pains in general....i had the pleasure to see him play for a needle exchange benifit at a small club..as far as i know it was the last show he played before he died..it was a beautiful, intimate, raw, sad and intense show but you could tell he felt comfotable in the company of other users and i feel lucky to have caught that show...nirvana(kurt...ahhhhh beautiful boy) alice in chains,,and actually for a change billie holiday is cool too....
nirvana is my fav band, along with alice in chains, soundgarden, sonic youth, and the list goes on... but if you really want some really good heroin music that no one really listens to is Marcy Playground's first album (even a song is titled poppy) and any blind melon CD although their first self titled is my particular fav... no one can deny The Velvet Underground's "Heroin" either. and of course who praises drug use more than Janes Addiction??

hey sulfer...took your advice and down loaded some of marcy playgrounds stuff....good call !!! i would have never thought to check them out...thanks ...and hey my friend reminded me of another song"i'm not an addict" by K's choice...in the late 90's....and of course anyone whos had a habit can relate to "waiting for my man" by lou reed /velvet underground...haha!
Hey Baddolly,
thats cool you checked out Marcy Playground. They are great and nobody is hip to them... the song Sex and Candy, the one they always play on the radio has to be their worst song in my opinion... and i love K's choice Not An Addict. You can find a really good acoustic version of that song. I downloaded it a while back on Kazzaa. Theyve got a number of good songs. Another album i always dug while i was high was Our Lady Peace's SPIRITUAL MACHINES. thats a great album as well... If you havent downloaded this already, check out marcy playground's "Trainspotting". Its from a movie, i think a Jay and Silent Bob flick. That songs rocks...

-Nice Boys (Don't Play Rock N Roll) by Rose Tattoo (also covered by Guns N Roses)
-Mr Brownstone by Guns N Roses (at least I think this one's about heroin but I'm not sure)

Neil Young -"The needle and the damage done"
I caught you knockin’ at my cellar door
I love you, baby, can I have some more
Ooh, ooh, the damage done.
I hit the city and I lost my band
I watched the needle take another man
Gone, gone, the damage done.
I sing the song because I love the man
I know that some of you don’t understand
Milk-blood to keep from running out.
I’ve seen the needle and the damage done
A little part of it in everyone
But every junkie’s like a settin’ sun.

hi there
i am a mother of a heroin addict....i have read your threads and feel really sorry for the state you are in...
i loved my daughter and helped her with her addictions, fighting doctors for treatment, nursing her when she had thrown herself out of our top window just to get her drugs, everything i could do to help i did....
i helped her to pay off the people that she got drugs from hoping that it would finish....she would cry and i would hold her...
i went through all the hells she went through all in the name of love....
i did this up till 2 yrs ago when her drugs started to affect my relationship with my fiance, she stole of him, stole things belonging to him as well....
to cut a long story short, i had to kick my beloved daughter out....this nearly killed me, my darling beautiful daughter who i loved so much who would rather choose drugs than me...i ended up on anti depressants and sleeping tablets and i cried all the time and worried about her...
i met her a few weeks ago and this was the first time we had spoken in 2 yrs, she is off drugs and has a flat of her own and looks brilliant...
its called TOUGH LOVE and it was tough believe me.
i pray every night that my daughter will stay well, positive and happy...
please, please think before taking anything, i know its easy for me to say but i have been through hell and back and i wouldnt want your parents to go through what i have been through....
take care what ever you do and please think about your future...
bless you all where ever you are in the world...

Yeah but she copy/pasted it into several threads... doesn't look like a common mistake to me, it look(s/ed) deliberate. http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/smileys/smiley24.gif Straying from the thread's original topic bothers me.
the song called "heroin girl" by Everclear is pretty good.

alice in chains is slowly tempting me 2ward H...........its the passion an pain inLayne's voice, makes me wanna go score....
You know layne OD eh? Hewent unnoticeddead in his apartment for 2 weeks and when the found him he was bloated with his skin black and blistering. Hell I dont see why layne of all people would make you wanna try junk. Do you think being a reclusethat cant even function enough to take part in a rock band is cool ?\
P.S. alot of A in C songs were written by Jerry cantrell, like Down in a Hole and Man in the Box and hence werenot being written about heroin.

The La's, There She Goes. its about H
a song about drugs in general, yes
but heroin no
trent has been known to be more fond of coke
Well...depending on how literal you take it...the song the perfect drug
is about heroin (heroin is sometimes referred to as "the perfect drug")
but think you are right, I can't recall any NIN songs that are really</span>
about heroin. As for heroin songs...I'm shocked no one brought up
Sublime. Pool Shark is about heroin and is a very sad song if you
listen to the words...
A good majority of my musical heros were somehow unraveled by H. I've
always wanted to try it, but it just seems so easy to slip from
recreational habit into addiction.
Shit whatever pass me a clean needle...

If you are looking for a great song about heroin I recommend Heroin by
The Velvet Underground, it is probably first song ever written about
hardcore drug use and it clearly states the ups and downs that drug
supplies. Also check out the song Jane Says by Janes Addiction (the
saddest song ever) its about a prostitiute addicted to heroin, but it
isnt all sad it has a bit of light streaming through the lyrics (which
is nice sometimes).

How about this one: a classic from the early 1970's:
Sister Morphine by the Rolling Stones
I'd have to agree with the people who put Heroin by The Velvet
Underground. That whole album with Nico is absolutely
amazing. I not too long ago acquired the new remastered version.

Is anyone else disgusted by the guys in Smashing Pumpkins attitude to their drug addicted ex members. I saw an interview where they pretended to not even know who the interviewer was talking about. Anyone who gives up on a friend because they are sick with any illness is a disgrace. Don't ever get angry at a user for drug problems get angry at the law makers. Everyone should be allowed to use what evere drug they want. If heroin was legalised and accurately graded there would be no accidental OD and there would be no crime just alot of people that can function in society and that can comfortably afford their drug of choice. The smashing Pumpkins are an absolute disgrace and so is anyone that ever gives up on a friend especially went it is the governments fault. This also goes for that Mum who posts that crap everywhere about her daughter all I see is another parent that couldn't even remain with the father of her child choosing her boyfriend over her daughter. If you didn't have such poor taste in men and could have stayed with your daughters father she probably would never have needed to try drugs. It won't last with this man and I hope your daughter sees you for what you really are a desperate woman who will choose any man over anything.

H. - Tool.
Tool denies that it's about Heroin, but the lyrics speak differently.
"I am too connected to you to
</span><br style="font-style: italic;">
Slip away, to fade away.
</span><br style="font-style: italic;">
Days away I still feel you
</span><br style="font-style: italic;">
Touching me, changing me,
</span><br style="font-style: italic;">
And considerately killing me."</span>
and...
"My blood before me begs me
</span><br style="font-style: italic;">
Open up my heart again."</span>

wow i cant beleve no one said this:
Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Under the Bridge
What a great song!
Sometimes I feel
Like I don't have a partner
Sometimes I feel
Like my only friend
Is the city I live in
The city of angels
Lonely as I am
Together we cry
I drive on her streets
'Cause she's my companion
I walk through her hills
'Cause she knows who I am
She sees my good deeds
And she kisses me windy
I never worry
Now that is a lie
I don't ever want to feel
Like I did that day
Take me to the place I love
Take me all the way
It's hard to believe
That there's nobody out there
It's hard to believe
That I'm all alone
At least I have her love
The city she loves me
Lonely as I am
Together we cry
I don't ever want to feel
Like I did that day
Take me to the place I love
Take me all that way
Under the bridge downtown
Is where I drew some blood
Under the bridge downtown
I could not get enough
Under the bridge downtown
Forgot about my love
Under the bridge downtown
I gave my life away

Yeah, well I feel really sorry for the state this forum is in. I haven't checked in for awhile, but it seems this is becoming just another place for frustrated bible bashers to throw around what little power they *think* that they have and ruin everyone else's fun in the process.
Linda, what is so evil or wrong about this thread? Nobody here is interested in your sob story and i seriously doubt it's going to make any of us chuck out our beloved CD's and turn to the good Lord to save our junkie souls. Seriously, tell someone who cares...
Anyway back to the thread...I'm contributing 'Ashes to Ashes' by David Bowie.

this old classic by old school canadian punks, the forgotten rebels.
and this song totally fuckin rocks.
Surfin' on Heroin
Annette and Frankie went to junkie
beach. Lots of smack was so close to
reach. Shot up at a luau down at
Waikiki. Freakin' at the sunset now
they're hap-happy.
Met Eric Zipper, introduced him to me
now I'm surfin' on heroin. Lots of smack
was so close to reach. Shot up at a luau
down at Waikiki. Freakin' at the sunset
now they're hap-happy
I'm so fucked up I can't remember my
name Tried it once, I'll never feel the
same. I'm swimming in a sea of puke.
Lend me a quarter play myself on the
juke. Got my kid brother hooked
yesterday. Pimping him pays for my
habit today.
I m surfin' on heroin. I'm surfin' on
heroin. Get a needle gonna stick it in.
I'm surfin' on heroin. I'm so drugged up,
I'm so fucked up. I'm surfin' on heroin.

Contributing ... My sweet prince by the lovely Placebo! This song is
arguably about heroin addiction, it is the most beautiful song though
and he (brian) has done some kick ass off his face performances of it.
Never thought you'd make me perspire.
Never thought I'd do you the same.
Never thought I'd fill with desire.
Never thought I'd feel so ashamed.
Me and the dragon can chase all the pain away.
So before I end my day, remember..
My sweet prince, you are the one
My sweet prince
you are the one
Never thought I'd have to retire
Never thought I'd have to abstain
Never thought all this could back fire
Close up the hole in my vein
Me and my valuable friend
can fix all the pain away
So before I end my day
remember
My sweet prince
you are the one
My sweet prince
you are the one
you are the one
you are the one
you are the one
you are the one
Never thought I'd get any higher
Never thought you'd fuck with my brain
Never thought all this could expire
Never thought you'd go break the chain
Me and you baby,
still flush all the pain away
So before I end my day
remember
My sweet prince
you are the one</pre>
