Hello

Swim use to for the longest time mix her booze with benzos to relax for a party but stopped it because swim snapped back into reality and realized how much of a dangerous game swim wasplaying.

Is there anything I can reccomend SWIM mix with her benzxos that would be safer for her so I dont have to worry

Mixing CNS-depressants of any description is dangerous. Whether it's alcohol and benzodiazepines, or barbituates and carisoprodol. These drugs are mutually-potentiating, meaning 1 + 1 can = 4.

The only relatively safe substance that mixes well without much physical danger is cannabis. But this can have a psychological danger to some people as some people are prone to anxiety attacks from pot/hash. If SWIM is prescribed benzos for anxiety, this may well not be a good idea.

Drugs-Forum does not recommend the use of any prescription drug for any use not directly indicated by the prescribing physician.

SWIM has never heard of anyone mixing benzos with weed/hash what is the usual outcome??

Benzos sedate most people so much its almost impossible to get an anxiety attack.

I wonder if its possible to have one while mixing benzos and pot?

SWIJ has found that mixing benzos and MJ can make for a very trippy/mellow outcome. Bear in mind that she hallucinates easily with MJ, but the result often makes for a more euphoric experience than benzos alone with distinct CEV's. MJ sometimes adds an additional insulated/cotton wool feeling to her experiences that are missing with benzos alone.

As for anxiety with this combo: Yes it does happen (but then SWIJ is vulnerable to this anyway), on the couple of occasions that it was a problem it was in a distinct derealisation kind of sense rather than the standard panic attack.

SWIM is extremly anxiety pron, however ever since SWIM went on full time SSRI meds at a high dose (80 prozac) SWIM does not fear much anymore and can do things that SWIM couldnt do before without panicking (LIKE RIDING a roller coaster) SWIM does not need any kind of benzos and just keeps them handy for recreational use. SWIM almost never uses them aside from the ODD TIME SWIM is looking to have some fun but would like to keep it safe because SWIM does not want to end up in the ER. SWIM is able to control the panic felling while extremly stoned due to the fact that the prozac eliminates the horrible panic fear SWIM use to feel when SWIM smelled or even took a puff of Pot. STrange how SSRI made SWIM so brave (comepared to what swim use to be like)

swim has learned from experience that mixing alcohol and benzos is a very bad idea. it basically turns a bottle of guinness into a bottle of peach shnapps.

a good combo though many would probably disagree is taking a benzo (namely clonazepam) with a small amount of opiods to greatly increase its effects.

Anti-histamines would probably potentiate it to some degree, if you're looking for a *really* nappy route to take.

SWIM has drank on alprazolam/benzos in the past but when he has it has been in moderation of .5-1mg xanax and 2 beers or so. just enough to chill swim out since hes not much of a drinker the past couple yrs. SWIM has to say though that cannabis + benzos works wonders. the cannabis has him feeling peachy where the benzo takes any edge off SWIMs anxiety gives him (and SWIM never gets panic attacks from cannabis)

SWIM agrees... as long as one is cautious, this combo isn't nearly as risky as benzos + alcohol. ISO, part of the problem with the latter is the way alcohol affects one's judgment... a person could conceivably keep feeding themselves benzos far beyond the danger point. Not really an issue with opiates.

Well yes it IS a very dangerous combo (benzos and alcohol) when mixed in large or semi-large amounts. SWIdr has taken benzos with alcohol in moderation and enjoys the synergy that they create. One can become a raging human being and not remember a thing when he takes/drinks too much; but one could relax 10 fold by a combination of a small amount of benzos & alcohol or some other CNS depressant. Dont get SWIdr wrong, he is NOT condoning mixing these substaces, but he is informing that they can also be used in a positive manner. Do NOT mix CNS depressants without knoledge and experience!!!

The thing with Benzos that has to always be considered is the half life. SWIM would take Clonazepam at night then the next day she'd have GBL without considering the fact that she still had Clonazepam in her system from the night before. She didn't think she was mixing her drugs because it was the day before and because she had slept. Not a good combo, the GBL hit hard and quick and SWIM was not expecting it.
