I have been a hard drinker for 25 years, you name it, ive done it. I even was able to create a good life while drinking....money, house, cars, family, etc. But the end is near if I don't stop. I went into rehab two years ago and the longest I stayed sober was 100 days. That was the magic number for me to tie one on. I go on 7 day benders about once a month. I am getting close to loosing my family along with everything else. I read these posts and recognize many of my own experiances and traits. I think this is the wrong forumfor me, but before I decide to not preticipate, I thought I would give a warning to anyone who cares or wants to know how alcohol has cost and destroyed many wonderful things in my life. I am not being judgmentle. I have only been sober three days after coming off a ten day bender with vodka in a foreign country. I am still having dts.

Of course, a 10 day drunken bender will screw you up. Ever heard of drinking in moderation? I prefer a nice glass of wine wiith my steak or fish. Vodka bender? One or two drinks after work, after dinner, maybe a bloody mary or 2 with a little tobasco, wostershire and a cellery stick. A 10 day vodka bender...hmmm

I can understand what tiredofit is saying. Although I'm only 26, I've been through a lot because of alcohol. I've gone into siezures while detoxing at a clinic, driven a car through a house, been in jail countless times. I'm not trying to brag, but I understand where he's comming from. I don't think searcher understands. While I can't speak for tiredofit, I've never heard of moderate drinking. I'm an alcoholic. I can't drink moderatly. I also use cocaine every day, but I'm not addicted to it. When I don't have it, it's not a problem. Alcohol is a different story. I have to have it to sleep, work, or do any other normal function. If just a little bit isn't in my body, I shake, get moody. It's a lot harder for some people to put the bottle down than others.

this might sound stupid P!MPJU!C3, but things couldn't be better for me right now. i have a great job that pays well. i just bought a 2004 Audi A6, i live in a nice apartment, and i can support my daily cocaine and alcohol habit. I have enough money to do or buy whatever i want. i'm an asset to my company. Although i drink a over half a liter of vodka a day, blast about half a gram of cocaine a day, i can still maintain. it was a lot different a few years ago though. I work hard and i play hard. you said you stopped drinking, and i applaud that. i'll be the first person to tell you that I'm thick headed, but I've bumped my head enough times to learn how to balance it all.
