SWIM recently consumed a couple of hits of ecstasy (although he thinks that it was actually MDA). While he was coming down, he grabbed his bottle of 5-HTP to post-load. He remembered reading an experience report somewhere about someone who snorted 5-HTP while they were coming down and it kicked the roll back in. SWIM got the bright idea that he should give it a try, and emptied a capsule to snort. He proceded to snort about 3 pills worth of powder, which totaled to 150mg of 5-HTP. He thought that he may have felt something, but it was probably just a placebo effect.
Anyways, SWIM snorted rather large lines, and ended up inhaling quite a bit of the powder into his lungs. It made him feel rather sick, The next day, he noticed that his breathing felt odd, like it was more shallow or heavier. He also had a slight pain in his throat/airway. He had to cough a lot because he could sometimes feel the powder in his airway. He also noticed that when he coughed heavily and breathed in again, he could feel trace amounts of powder being inhaled.
SWIM realizes that it was a bad idea to snort all that powder, especially without doing some research into the subject. He is worried that inhaling so much of the powder may carry health risks, and needs to know if he should be worried about it or not. He knows that inhaling powder can irritate the lungs, but he doesn't know if there are any actual health problems that could be associated with it. Should he be seeking medical help, or will the negative effects just pass without complication or permanent health problems?
The pills contained a powder mixture of 5-HTP and white rice flour.
