Finaly taking .5mg xanax (Alprazolam) 3x's a day

So swim got his script filled a month ago and didn't abuse them at all yet. SWIM just took his .5mg 3x's a day and thats it. SWIM did however buy more xanies off the street, swim took 6mg all together...and didn't really feel anything!! So SWIM is guessing from taking his script normally made him build a tolerence

Swim is wondering how much should swim take if swim decides to use them to get high?

If SWIY genuinely needs benzodiazepines for anxiety issues, then SWIY should not take them recreationally at all. This will cause problems with rebound anxiety as well as additional tolerance making SWIYs regular dose less effective.

I agree with radiometer, in essence it would be a bad idea, but if you must, try using sublingually as it hits you fast and you can guage if you need more for a recreactional dose. Or try drinking some grapefruit juice 30-45 mins before taking your dose orally, as its supposed to potentiate the effects. Who knows maybe the grapefruit juice will make your prescribed dose more recreational and serve a dual purpose.

Just keep the recreational use to once a week max and i thik you should be ok. But of course if you get any negative results from using reacreationally them stop and resume your prescribed regimen only. Business before pleasure.

On a side-note:

If SWIY is up to 1.5mg Xanax a day, SWIY should be already thinking of an exit strategy. Getting off of Xanax is a royal BITCH. SWIM was taking the same exact dose as SWIY, for general anxiety. When SWIM decided to stop using Xanax, it took SWIM more than six months of careful tapering to do so. Benzodiazepine dependance is no joke.

Swim takes benzo's recreationally maybe once a month because of swim was thinking of the same thing about screwing up my xanax levels...

Swim heard that only ocean spray grapfruit juice works, this true?

And radiometer, This is only swim's 2nd month on Xanax. 1st month swim was taking 1mg a day, and this month 1.5 a day...so this is fairly new to swim...And since swim am a recovering heroin addict, he addressed the dependancy issue and swim's doctor agreed about tapering off...

I was under the impression that it was ruby red grape fruit juice that worked. im not sure just what i read somewhere. ill do a little more research and edit if i find anything.
