Swim his dose scale:
10-20 mg: A very low dose with slight effects, if one is not familiar with the effects its almost not noticeable.
20-30 mg: The effects are present but still not strong. On this dose its clear that the drug has been used.
30-40 mg: The effect are medium to strong and it starts to feel like amphetamine sulfate. This was for swim the best recreational dose. The side effects are getting noticeable (chewing, dilated pupils)
40-50 mg: This dose is a strong ritalin dose with full effects witch will last long, with this dose the side effects are also very noticeable. Especially the cotton mouth feeling.
50-60 mg: This dose is actually to high for recreation. The positive but also the negative effects are strong. But the problem with such a high dose is that it doesn’t add to the experience it rather prolongs it. This kind of dose will be rough on the heart.

All of these dosis where taken by means of insuflation. (assuming swim snorted once a night and no redoses)

The effects:
Low dose: effects are slightly noticeable. It works stimulating but not for to long, euphoria is also felt but on the background.
Medium dose: effects are present and feel very nice, stimulation and euphoria.
High dose: with a too high dose the effects are strong but the side effect are stronger. Dehydration and heart problems are risks.

Conclusion:
Swim experiences ritalin as one of the sweetest stimulants on the market. The euphoria and stimulation are nice and mild. You’re not in space but very well out there. But when one compares it to amphetamine sulphate it lacks in stimulation.

As no one has ever posted an experience here before (wierd as I know many swims have some) I'll start by posting a totally made up story which I imagined this past saturday:

Note that the subject to which I refer as "I" doesn't exist.

" I finally got some ritalin pills, 10 mg, brand novartis. I've done a lot of research about stimulants and I finally decided to choose methylphenidate over speed, coke or meth for a number of reasons:

1. It's cheaper and easier to find
2. It doesn't come from some bastard's kitchen, garaje or bathroom.
3. It isn't a street drug, it comes in blisters and it looks like medicine you take for allergy, besides it is not known in my country so there is little chance to get busted.
4. It is softer than speed and meth and has easier comedown
5. I tried coke in the past and didn't like and it's fucking expensive

Anyway, I read a lot of confusing reports about it being recreational or not, being good for insufflation, being similar to coke.... So I didn't know what to expect.

Note that I'm/was ADHD and never took any drugs for it, just useless therapy.

I took 2 pills (20 mg) and crushed into fine powder, not as fine as I wished cause I did it quick and with no good tools. It is amazing though how much powder you get from 2 pills.

00:30 I start blowing the stuff, 4 lines with breaks between them (a couple of minutes) I'm regular mj smoker and I'd smoked 4 hours before. Haven't done any other drug for at least 3 years except for ocassional alcohol and a couple of trials with GHB (not that day). Snorting them reminded me a lot of cocaine, acid smell, bitter taste, and not at all hard on the nose. My teeth didn't come numb though.

T+10m: Not feeling much, got dressed and went out to meet some friends that were drinking at someone's house.

T+20m: I meet my friends now, I feel ok, I bit speedy and happy but not sure it's me or the drug.

T+30m: I definitely feel it right now, I finished my first drink (ron with cola) and feel my heart pounding and I need to move and talk, I'm happy and crear headed but not wired. My friends don't notice anything wierd in my behaviour. I keep drinking.

T+1h: I decide not to take the other pill I planned to take cause I was speedy enough, and i didn't want to ruin a perfect night by OD'ing. I'm feeling very well right now a lot of tingling in my chest which scared me at first but then I realized how plesurable it was and let go. I'm talkative, happy and energetic. I feel a lot of pressure in my jaw and I need to be pressing my teeth all the time. I try to stop that but it is hard.

T+2: I still feel as above although more drunk. It is amazing how easily you can drink while on ritalin, and the little effect it has in you.

T+3: I stopped drinking but not because I feel drunk, it's just that the number of drinks scares me. We go to the pub. No effects diminished at all, still the same, although mouth is getting worse. I drink water

T+3.5: We go to the disco and I still feel very sociable and warm but energy is decreasing, I'm very thirsty. No other bad feelings.

T+4.5: I'm ok now, delighted for the good experience but effects are all gone and I'm feeling drunk. Met my girlfriend and went home.

T+5: I smoke some weed and went to bed. Sleep was easy but not good. I fell asleep in 10 min but I woke up several times. Dreams were rare. I don't get good sleep when I drink only anyway so it might not have been the rits.

Next day I felt a bit of hangover.

Overall it was a great night. I think methylphenidate is much better than coke. I know many of you will say I'm out of my mind for saying this. It is cheaper, longer lasting and better in effects. Good drug I found. I can't wait to try it as study aid and to help concentrate.

In retrospect I would like to say that I was maybe TOO talkative, and now I know I should've watched this better as I said things I shoudn't have said and made me look stupid sometimes.... "

SWIM would agree with robin_himself. 40mg is the best dose SWIM prefers after snorting from 10mg to 200mg in the past, side effects increase with dosage. 40mg is the highest recreational dose on average for effects but dose may depend on other factors like alcohol intoxication. really good post robin_himself perfect scaling.

SWIM snorted her Ritalin for the first time today. Crushed power of 5mg at first and SWIM felt NOTHING!

SWIM checked out the fine ass drugs-forum and decided to snort another 10mg. And that's just what she did. Still nothing at first.

20 minutes or so later, SWIM felt a mellow high. To SWIM, it was no better or worse than having 5 shots down the system. :p

Um...3 hours later SWIM is wondering if she should get another round of shots...

For his first time swim recently insufflated 2 5mg pills containing Ritalin and felt a strong wariness of his surroundings for about a half hour. Halfway through, swim decided to sit down and discovered that he had lost all interest in mobility. Rather than moving around, he found it more pleasant to simply chat amongst his associates and observe the scenery. Can anyone relate to this type of reaction?

Oh and also swim neglected to mention how he took a couple of pills orally but did not notice much of an effect until now. He is now being kept wide awake all night without a single sedative available. The only thing better than being kept up all night is having work in the morning.

Ritalin Experience :

First a little background on prior drug usage. SWIM (whom I knew pretty well) uses low dosage adderall via insuffication (30 mg) 3 to 4 times a week. SWIM used to use cocaine and methamphetamine recreationally for quite some time (3 to 4 years) but has gotten out of the lifestyle in the last year or so.SWIM used ~1.75 to 2.5 gr of cain over the course of a usual night and approx .5 to .75 gr per day when using methamphetamine (snorted usually, smoking didnt seem to last long enough and made the drug seem more like a "fien" drug to SWIM). In SWIMs opinion (everyone has one;) mixed amphetamine salts (adderall) , especially upon beginning to use them, felt more akin to MDMA than methamphetamine. More euphoria than rush. SWIM has access to ritalin on an occasional basis but does not usually indulge. I present the following experience report for informational purposes only and this never really happened SWIM just made it all up.
RITALIN (20 mg, insufficated)
+5 min began to feel the kick , and suprisingly a little numbness which was definitely not expected
+15 nice euphoria, more of a relaxed euphoria than meth or adderall, pleasant thoughts and bodily sensations
+45 still feeling good but feeling the beginning of a comedown.
+ ~1:15 Pretty much down
Now if that was the end of it then SWIM might indulge in the drug more often. However, and this may just be SWIM, but after the roughly hour and a half high, a deep depression sets in that runs at least the course of the next 3 to 4 hours if not until SWIM goes to sleep. The meaning of the word dopamine depletion becomes very clear to swim during this period. SWIM feels it is similiar to caocaine in this respect however unlike cocaine, SWIM does not feel a extreme need to do more of the drug, just a deep depression.Does anyone run in to this as well?

ok seriously, most f'd up 'side effect' ever, SWIM doesn't know whether to cry because it worsened his depression or what, he's trying to laugh hoping it's temporary....SWIM thinks an ssri is actually working too. gg lexapro. anyways, first of all it is causing an INSANE degree of add, every word SWIM writes he has to think first. SWIM really hopes this isn't the equivalent to actual add, cause he couldn't live like this. But that's not the worse of it, no exaggeration, at all, as soon as the first 20mg ORAL (weak asssss dose) hit, it came with a baseball at full force carrying a massive load of anhedonia, with a side of stare at your computer bitch and do what i say. which involves nothing but message boards, this is seriously a weird ass feeling, even on klonopin. NOTHING IS PLEASUREABLE :[. SWIM will try Welbutrin. Also, non existent comedown which doesn't really matter if there was no pleasure. Is this the zombie reaction kids have to Ritalin? this is unethical, immoral, and lacking SWIM of his weak but noticable pleasure.
Oh not to mix up, that was SWIMS FIRST dose of the TODAY. Yesterday all swim got was uncontrollable hyperfocus, extremely counterproductive. Lost track of about 9 hours.

Swim is having a similar experience. Hyperalertness but zombified and lack of mood. Kind of like zeroing in and zoning out at the same time. Swim would never put a kid on this if this had the same effect on them. But still using it because there doesn't seem to be an alternative.

SWIM was prescribed to 36 and 54 mg Concerta for ADD. A few years after SWIM got off his meds, he found the bottles containing the pils. He found 10mg Ritalin along with his Concertas (apparently SWIM also took 10mg Ritalin at 7 pm too).

He first snorted a Ritalin and got a mood lift and euphoria, listening to music was fun too. Moving around or talking was enjoyable. When coming down however, SWIM got very restless and irritable.

Later on, his usual dose was half a 36 mg Concerta and the other half when he peaked. SWIM thinks that with tolerance (I used it almost daily) the mood lift disappears and you feel like you have no emotions through out the whole high, and get the zombie effect mentioned by seeingred and outofstep.

As for addictiveness, SWIM has an addictive personality but he felt Concerta was making him do it every day. When SWIM ran out however, he had no wihdrawal symptoms nor made any effort to get more.

From my buddy's experience, Dexmethylphenidate>Methylphenidate. Some people say the isolated D-isomer deal is no biggie and gives them the same effect as Methylphenidate, but then there are those like my good buddy. He discovered D-Methyl afterwards and realized a much smoother, cleaner, & less confusing rush.

From his experience: He snorted Ritalin for awhile and liked the high, except at high doses (80+mg). He would stare at a webpage and read paragraphs over and over, or try writing an email and just laugh 'cause he'd keep backspacing and forgetting where he was getting at. He hated the comedown ALOT. Sleeping/Eating 8-10 hours after a 40-60mg dose didn't come easy. The thought of food was too nauseating and even 50mg of diphenhydramine just makes for a night of toss-n-turn/30minsOfSleepHere'n'There.

Then he looked into D-Methyl and found it was supposedly more potent.

It is. It's also a more "focused"-type rush which has same effects as methyl like highly focused concentration BUT my buddy didn't get confused/sluggish/slow/grumpy on the comedown like methyl usually makes him. He just returns to baseline and all is well. If anything, he's in a somewhat better mood than usual.

-He has fun for a good 2-3 hours on a tweeked out high with one 40-60mg dose, walking around the apt doing random tasks.
-The comedown is more gentle.
-It fades away quicker and he is usually able to sleep/eat 6-7 hours after his last rail, albeit with the help of diphenhydramine.

He quite simply likes D-methyl much better. Screw Ritalin.

At 37mgs Concerta caused a state of total awareness, yet lack of coordination and anxiety. No paranoia. No hallucinations. 27mgs alongside 5 cups of coffee produced a state of strange social phobia alongside of extrasensory perceptions.

SWIM wrote an art history paper for his friend and got paid in ritalin. He popped open a 20mg capsule and separated the beads into 2 piles. SWIM assumed that it was an extended release ritalin capsule. He crushed up half of the beads into a fine power and orally ingested said powder. It has been an hour and a half and he is feeling good and productive. Slight chest congestion but no jitters. He feels like he is borderline euphoric.

It was approximately 10mg of, now IR, methylphenidate and he is planning to crush up the other beads later maybe to get some work done. Overall, pretty good. He likes it more than adderall.

My pet gerbil is prescribed Ritalin due to having ADD. My pet gerbil in case you were wondering has the IQ of the average human. Anyway. One night, knowing that Ritalin was just another form of amphetamine, my pet gerbil did some research on the subject. After much research, and in need of a temporary vice, he began.

He took two 20mg capsules. First he separated the plastic tube surrounding the Ritalin. Then he proceeded to carefully place the little balls on the table. He then took a business card and placed it on top of the balls, and slowly crushed them into a fine powder with the aid of a battery. My pet gerbil then made 3 lines for snorting, and 1 pile for use with a cigarette. He snorted the lines. My pet gerbil said that he initially felt a little spaced. Apparently his general awareness had raised rather significantly. He informed me that the come down from this was pleasant. When the effects had worn off, he lit a cigarette. He then dipped the end in the pile he made previously, and took several large drags. He dipped the cigarette in the pile again, and repeated the process till all was gone. My gerbil explained how the effects were vast in their differences to snorting the substance. He said that the "high" was much larger, he felt a little shaky, a little nauseas, and a little disorientated. The effects however lasted for a much shorter time than when he snorted. He also explained that the come down from that was unpleasant.

Be prepared this is a very long post because SWIM is on concerta while he writes it and am going into detail.

Swim's experiances with Methylphenidate have only been of ritalin and concerta. but before Swim start's he's going to give Swiy a brief history on the drugs he has taken.

In order of first used:
Enhalents, Alchohol, Weed, Nos, Co-codamol (Panadeine Forte), Zolpidem (Stilnox), Ritalin, Nutmeg, Ecstasy, Concerta.

Swim's first experience was about half a year ago when his parents went away and he had some friends over for a weed, alchohol and nos session. A few of the people that were there were keeping him busy and not letting him enjoy his night. However around 12 that night everyone at his house had fallen asleep except for Swim and his friend.

Swim's friend had 40 x 10mg (400mg) of Methylphenidate in ritalin pills in a bag and offered Swim some. Swim and Swim's friend dropped 20mg to start with but after about 30 minutes the effects still hadnt kicked in so they both snorted a further 20mg. Swim can be a very impacient person and he decided to take some nos about 15 minutes after snorting. The nos was extremely intence for him. It was nothing like the weed nos comparison but almost felt as if the room was bouncing in at him.

However after swim finished taking the nos he snorted some more lines with his friend. Swim and his friend ended up talking about some of there very deep and personal secrets in which they never would have told each other if they werent on the drug even thought they are good friends. Alot of the issues discussed were to do with childhood and parenting and how parenting affects children growing up.

Swim and his friend ended up snorting all of the ritalin over the night (200mg) Methylphenidate, didnt get a wink of sleep and talked very deeply. Swim had the jitters very bad all night and couldnt help doing very tedious things such as make lines over and over again out of the same ritalin with a card. Swim also had no gum or any food for the entire night (about 8 hours), because of this swim subconsiously clenched his jaw very hard the entire night.

The next morning Swim's friend left early before the people at the house woke up. Swim talked energetically to the waking stoners for around 30 minutes with them curiously wondering what the hell he was going on about until the comedown began.

Swim suddenly got very depressed and felt as if there was nothing he wanted to do and (by that swim means not sitting on the couch thinking about what you could be doing, but infact coming to a realisation that nothing in the world satisfies you anymore > No point in living > SWIM should probably just kill himself but then what is the point in that, it would hurt people close to him, prove nothing and he cant be bothered anyway)

Swim kept reminding the people in his house to leave because he needed to clean it before his parents got back. Whilst reminding them every few minutes to leave as soon as they could, Swim paced constantly around the house doing tedious things such as: Picking up a beer bottle, walking through several rooms then walking back to the room it was from and placing it down in the same spot. Swim can also remember being an arsehole to his friends that were there by little things such as shaking his head at them as if he was dissapointed in them or returning a point they were making with a detailed rebuttle (e.g. shutting them down). As Swim's friends were leaving they asked swim if he could walk them down to the bus stop around 200m away because they werent sure where it was, but swim practically told them to get out of his house.

After Swim's friends left, Swim could not get the idea out of his head that his life was pointless, to him it seemed like throughout his life he would never enjoy himself and then one day die. As this thought was making the comedown even more depressing for him, he decided to busy himself by cleaning the house.

Swim cleaned the house for a good 3-4 hours whilst pacing, clenching his jaw and thinking deeply in a very emo way. After cleaning Swim tried to eat something ended up throwing it out, then Swim tried to goto sleep in many different places around his house but wasn't sucessful. Swim tried listening to music but the usual metal freaked him out and he ended up listening to the most emo music he had which didn't help his situation.Swim ended up going onto his computereven though there was no point to him. However the thought of staring at nothingness felt better than pacing to him.

However when Swim got onto his computer and logged onto msn, he found the same friend that he had taken the methylphenidate with the night before and he was experiancing a relative comedown. Swim told his friend that he never wanted to take any drugs ever again. The two conversed for a few hours until Swim started to feel normal again.

Sorry about the length of this post but it was a very good/bad memorable experiance for swim.

As mentioned before Swim was clenching his jaw during the stage of the high and the comedown. Although it didnt seem like much at the time becuase he wasnt in a state of mind to pay any attention to it. Swim's jaw became very sore that day worsend by the next. After a few days Swim could not keep a straight face because of the pain in his Jaw and he would lie asleep at night trying to forget about the pain until he would go to sleep soon to awaken because of the stabbing pain in his Jaw.

Swim went to the doctor to get some pain killers. Swim told the doctor he had a saw jaw from grinding his teeth because he was nervous that his parents would come back to the house being messy and Swim would get in trouble (this seemed like a good enough exuse). The doctor told him just to use asprin because it was strained jaw muscles.

Swim spent a few days using asprin to keep the pain at bay, which worked. However as soon as the asprin wore off the pain returned which was quite annoying waking in the middle of the night, taking more and having to wait till they took affect before he could sleep.

Swim would get angry and snappy at family members when not on the asprin. Swims mother doesnt like the idea of drugs and was trying to wein swim off them slowly but it wasnt helping the situation because he would sware at her ultil she gave them to him.

In the end Swim's mother made swim goto physiotherapy a few times until the pain in the jaw was gone. Apparently there is a muscle in the neck connected to the jaw and the physiotherapist gave swim stretches which ended up fixing the pain.

The moral of the story is: have gum if your going to binge this stuff or speed or E or meth or whatever and on your first time Dont take as much as Swim did it is a very bad idea

Once again newbie alert...lol wanted to write my friends male friends first two expierences with 2 different Ritalin types. Before anyone gets up since the birds are singing.... We have been up all night fussing cussin and discussing. Ok First time for swim was lol exactly a week ago I would want to say he got a script of ritilan sr 20 mg. He took his first one as directed just to see if he would feel anything from that. Which in 15 minutes he was feeling so warm, happy, mood uplifted telling me and anyone else who would listen ritalin is his new bestfriend. Had shopping to do which lasted oh say 3 hours from the time he had taken his dose.Get back and he said hey didn't I read u can blow these and the rush is bigger? I said yes and before I could say anything else he was choppin it up. He said the feeling was 10 times more intense his head tingled, he felt a huge surge of hype. 10 minutes later swim is nonstop talking feeling really really good. Swim gets online and notices he is all into this storie he has found online so this takes alot of swims time without him knowing it. Swim realizes he wants another hit and this time frame was like 3 hours. Swim said he felt no coming down ill effects just felt he was loosing the high. Swim again took 20mg to blow then heard if u swallow one it last longer so swim does this as well. At this point I am asking my friend to ask her male friend if it is to much what about over dose since none of my dogs ever messed with stims just downers and the dogs know when to much is to much. This is all new so swim mocho man says I was reading for that 3 hours and it was about accidental od's swim said every report said it is almost unlikely to do so on ritilan and I started to question which swim interupts with BUT........ there's a but there it does tons of awful stuff to your heart which you would end up in ER for heart before an OD. To me still scarey stuff. Swim continued this binge through out the night taking a good 10 20 mg tablets of the sr which imo is way to much spaced out or not. The more swim did he said that feel good sensation went away all he was left with was intense awake and alertness kind of a speedy feeling but none of the other things from earlier. Not saying what swim done was right but it had been a very long time since swim did any kind of drugs or had any kind of high including drinking so he went over board. Sorry so long or if this isn't written out right but I'm new and will learn as i go so my post will get better.

Ok now for swim's second attempt. Swim got this idea that the none time released rit would be stronger and if he could have that warm good feeling everyday and be able to take it 3 times a day opposed to the sr which was once a day he wouldn't do any binges like that anymore or if so once in a blue moon and he swore if he could get the none released ones he would take them as directed since he could enjoy this 3 times a day now. So tells doc these don't last me long enough my cousin says he takes them 3 x a day the none release so..... he gets his wish the doc switches it. Here's the story from swim. Get script at 11 am run to car take first pill at 11:15 makes it home in 30 minutes..... Nothing nodda not a warm twinge speed jolt nothing. Swim thinks ok maybe that last time i took those sr it hit me in an hour so maybe this to. 12:15 still nothing not even the feeling of being alert he says all he feels is frustrated and disappointed thinking these work quicker and have same umph to them. Apparently i wont bore you with times or what not but just say swim never felt anything from these 20mg none time released as he did on sr even just by taking by mouth he felt great and with these no matter if he blew ate crushed took whole about all he got was keeping me up all night complaining...lol asking me why or what did he do, or questions well is one stronger and i screwed up by telling my doc those didn't last i wanted to try these. and now these do nothing for him but keep him awake he doesn't even get the real talkive ways he did last time. Needless to say going through this trip was not a fun one with him. the other one he was fun until the end using my friends computer and her to post a question on here about using to much at once for tolerances he was starting to come down wiggin over stuff. Any way I know this was long but thought if I posted 2 for them i might be double posting but thanks for reading. Figured maybe someone might learn from this or may have expierenced simular cause like I told swim I have no idea why one would work but the other not do a thing it's the same med. Listen the XR Ritalin or Concerta comes in say a 36mg dose thats equivalent to 30mg of ritalin ...to last you 12 hours ..thats very little ritalin at a time hitting you over 12 hours so You are not going to feel any rush ..just be able to get just enough to concentrate. Now say take 30mg of ritalin at one time it hits you all immediately you will feel it. Thats the difference. SWIY is just sayin'

compared to aderall, concerta isn't shit. especially the time release (I don't know if there's instant release). even when you're pushin up to 100mg of connie, it's rare to get geeked. you'll barely speed once in a while, but compared to 100mg of aderall, connie's a bitch. the only other difference swim has found between the 2 is aderall is more weird. and swim is more of a cocky douche when on connies. it's hard to explain what concerta's like when you're not speeding...

SWIM was taking 60mg of Equasym XL daily (as prescribed for ADD) for a long period. SWIM would crush and snort the ritalin instead of swallowing it as he felt this was more beneficial. SWIM often took doses in excess of 150mg as he enjoyed the feeling, the ability to concentrate and enabled him to work like a trooper in his job. Aside from the fact SWIM was snorting his medication, he felt like everything was going great. Right?

Wrong. 2 weeks ago SWIM realised he was dependant on the drug. So SWIM decided that he would stop taking them as he didn't want the withdrawals or to be dependant on a stimulant, so he got rid of his prescription... the wrong way. Over a weekend SWIM crushed and snorted 45 60mg tablets, SWIM told himself this was so he could get rid of them once and for all, but really it was because he wanted the high, he could easily have handed them in.

So it was Monday, SWIM had no medication, yet strangely was feeling ok. Then all of a sudden, SWIM started behaving very strange. He started acting like a very hyperactive 7 year old, he broke pens, threw stuff around, and generally messed around being an idiot for about 3 hours (while at work!). At about 12pm, the hyperactivity faded... and the severe depression set in. To cut an even longer story short, SWIM ended up in hospital with stitches in his wrist. Fortunately the people at SWIMS place of work were and continue to be very supportive.

SWIM has vowed to never take an overdose of ritalin again.

Swim is experienced with many psychoactives. MaryJane has been his friend for many years now. Beer is liked. Cocaine used to be done quite often. Meth has been tried. Oxycontin abused along with the occasional Hbomb. Swim loves Xanax and other benzzies.

Onto his experience. . . Swim would snort and take orrally adderall quite often in highschool and not as often while in college. Swim would say he is very knowledgeable about amphetimine salts dexamphetimine etc.

.First off swim has been taking about 2mg of suboxone a day for the last 3-4months. Also swim is on about 10mg of lexapro a day.

Today is the 3rd day of his Methlyphenidate experience. After Swim had very little fun with Straterra he was able to receive some generic ritalin (even tho he really wanted adderall). Swim received six 5mg IR generic methylphenidate and thirty 20mg Sr tablets(tablets not capsules?)

First day in the morning swim took two 5mg IR tablets. Swim was not too impressed tho did give him good energy, and some euphoria.

Second day same dose but swim starts to realize hes a little too chatty and gets in a fight with a good friend while drinking that night. Sleep that night was difficult even tho a little buzzed from beer. Dreams were of swim at a rave themed like a civil war and swim killed many people that night. NEVER has swim had a dream like this. Swim usually very mellow.

3rd day(today) swim decides to skip the IR and go straight for the SR. Swim wakes up pops one 20mg and goes back to sleep. Swim sleeps alot. Swim doesnt wake up for what feels like a couple hours and when he does feels very tired. That was about 1hour ago. Swim has drank a bit of a water and smoked a cigarette and now feels quite awake. Swim dont feel UP like adderall would make him but definately knows he is cuz he wouldnt be rambling on like this if he werent. Stomach feels a bit upset. Need food he thinks. Swim likes the SR better now but still wishes it was XR adderall. Adderall just seems to really fuck swim up even at a low 10mg dose.

Swim loves Ritalin, but doesn't care much about Concerta. Adderall was never tried, since it's not branded in Swim's country. But here comes the impressions:

- First time, 20mg of regular (not the long-acting) Ritalin: GREAT. Happy, focused, concentrated. No depression after, just a feeling of being really tired.

Then Swim started to see a doc and was prescribed 15mg Ritalin every four hours, three times a day. Worked well in the beginning, but Swim couldn't bare the valleys. The peaks were great, but the valleys used to make her REALLY down. REALLY angry. REALLY self-destructive and obsessive.

So, Swim was prescribed Ritalin LA 40mg. So far, so good. But since it lasts just 7 hours and Swim needs more than 7 hours of productivity per day, Swim started taking two (oral, 'cause snorting was not a good idea for the LA Ritalin). Again, so far, so good.

But doc decided to try Concerta 54mg on Swim. Slow action, 12 hours... ok, Swim gave it a try. Not only Concerta is more expensive, but also worked worse - as posted before, there's no feeling of being on a med/drug at all. So that's why Swim prefers Ritalin LA (or SR, XR, Swim doesn't know how Novartis calls it around the globe).

Besides the 40mg Ritalin, Swim ocasionally uses Zolpidem and Clonazepam at night. But benzos and hypnotics are becoming less necessary - believe it or not -, maybe because there's much more energy spent during the whole day.

Mood-stabilizers (such as Oxcarbazepine, Topamax and Lamotrigine) are no longer used, neither SSRIs antidepressants. Swim was misdiagnosed for years, it seems. Dopamine, this is the name! :thumbsup:

Dosage for swim's with tolerance: (SR 20mgs)

40mg: some effects are noticable.

60mg: effects are felt but not strong enough to be enjoyable.

80mg: effects are strong but only lasts for a few minutes ( this leads swim to do more to prolonge the effects.)

100mg: feels a bit like rolling on E but less intense ( swims recreational dose)

120mg+: effects are intense and long lasting, sometimes gives very long and harsh comedowns and feeling sick the next day.

According to swim all these dosages are from insulfatation (snorting)
This list might not be accurate they are based on the words of someone who has abused ritalin for 10 years.

Not many recent posts here, My friend hopes this gets read!!

My girlfriend has had many experiences with many substances........in her late teens, pot, coke, crack, crank..........bad, bad 3 rehabs later..... and got cleaned up. She was then blessed with a beatuiful baby girl...........a year later started working and came across an oxy. guy. So she partied on weekends, responsibly. Proud that she could control herself unlike before. She also struggles from bi-polar disorder, and takes drugs to not feel depressed. She says its a hard to be her.

Now 10 years later, happily married, blessed with a son, clean for all 9 mo. My friend still plays with oxy's and she just got diagnosed with ADHD and now on concerta 36mg. She is having fun!!! Crushing 2 or 3 concertas and when she feels the kick she puts the saved outer coating under her tongue for the extra kick...............she feels great after 25 min or so and lasts for 3-4 hrs. She takes klonopin 2 mg to ease the comedown. And sleeps well and able to function the next day. Hydrate and take a multivitamin, appetite is much supressed.

Ogh she said to take 2 tums 20 min. before the concerta dose to help the high............................does something with changing the acidity in the stomach.

She says its much like a coke high but kinda different, but she is able to manage things and be a good mother, work, and go to school full time for Nursing! She does alot and is a good person.

first of all a little background...

SWIM tried few drugs before
like weed,aclohol,E,nos,glu sniffing and other stuff, always went well
always with normal amount and with friends, then SWIM stoped using any of the above (don't know why actually).
3 years later SWIM got prescription for ritalin because of his adhd...

then a friend of SWIM's suggusted him to make a powder and sniff it, and boy oh boy SWIM really enjoyed it...

The does:
normal dose to concentrate 2x10mg - orally

snorting:

SWIM first took 20mg and had none effect
then another 20mg and started to feel a little euphoria
then another 20mg and then it hit him, really nice euphoria and awareness

Now SWIM usally takes 60mg straight and gets the full effect after about 10 minutes
that lasts for about 1-2hours (of full effect) and then starting to fade away slowly, usually the good feeling is over after 4hours.

during the influence always need to do something kinda like speed,
talking to ppl more and about stuff that SWIM never would have talked about, like really personal stuff - got SWIM in a trouble few times :)
and general euphoria and really nice awareness of everything...

no bad comedown whats so evar apart that SWIM don't want to sleep for about 8-10 hours after he took it.

Very true. SWIMs quite hard headed and has trouble accepting this fact though. Redose and it won't be euphoria your prolonging it'll be the comedown. SWIM goes through 5 hours of misery every day for his hardheadedness haha. No SWIMs exaggerating there sometimes the comedown just doesn't hit him for some reason. Its a very different drug to meth with meth the euphoria always comes back after redosing.

Glad that SWIY found a method to use methylphenidate in a way that works for SWIY. SWIM has never really found enjoyment in orally taking methylphenidate, useful for study sessions though.

Well today swim went to a friends house originally looking for some oxy. The deal fell through, so he had a friend that just passed a drug test and he was looking to smoke some pot. SWIM smokes roughly .5 of some headies then goes home and remembers he has to write a paper.

After SWIM smoked the pot, he decided to bump roughly 25 mg of focalin to help him get his work done. He decided to document the experience for no real reason. SWIM has a reasonably high tolerance for uppers, usually needing 20 mg to get a good inital rush.

+0 min: SWIM bumped a 15 mg focalin, and after being high on marijuana, he expected not to get much of the euphoric rushhe loves so much.
+1 min: He decides to start playing some video games and listen to music, which he loves to do when he is on dexmethylphenidate.
+5 min: SWIM got a slight euphoric rush, but doesn't feel like the focalin has overcome his pot high yet to focus on his work. SWIM decides to bump roughly 10 mg of focalin to wake him up a little more.
+10 min: SWIM is surprised that he is still feeling the euphoric rush even though under the influence of pot. SWIM has bumped focalin after pot a previous time, and didn't really feel much.
+30 min: SWIM starts to feel really speedy since the rush is gone, so he decides to start on his work.

Overall, SWIM was pleased with how the dexmethylphenidate managed to get him focused and awake even after smoking pot an hour before. Usually the dexmethylphenidate isn't able to keep him from burning out.

Is there a way for swim to get a rush from LA or should he switch back to instant release. Snorting is not an option

Taking Ritalin (or amphetamine) when you have ADHD produces much different effects, than a persons which does not have ADHD.

Persons with ADHD which take Ritalin can become more quiet and chilled out and can even sleep!! If SWIM, which does not have ADHD, would take the same amount of Ritalin, SWIM will shoot through the roof and would not be able to sleep for 24 hours!!!

So you could say that healthy persons will experience the opposite effects of Ritalin compared to those who have ADHD. The same for the use of speed. I know somebody which has ADHD, who is normally pretty overactive adn busy, will easily fall asleep on speed!

SWIM had started taking Concerta starting at 18 mg tablets 4-5 months before. SWIM had then been gradually upped in dosage up to 36 mg tablets daily. So SWIM was browsing forums and playing online games one night when he decided that he wanted to stay up all night and play his online games. He decided the easiest way to do this would be to take 4 Concerta 36 mg tablets. He then went on with playing his games. Around an hour later SWIM was feeling quite a bit of euphoria and feeling like he could do anything. He decided, "Well why not take a few more?". SWIM then took 4 more Concerta 36 mg tablets. By now it's 3 AM. SWIM keeps on playing his game and is loving talking to people and asking questions that seem important at the time. Around 5 AM he decides to take 3 more Concerta 36 mg tablets. SWIM just keeps on grinding away at his games and at around 7 in the morning his room-mate wakes up and asks if he's been up all night. SWIM has an addictive personality and his room-mate knows this so swim decides to lie. "No man, I woke up at 4 in the morning. I had a bad nightmare and couldn't get back to sleep." SWIM's room-mate seems to be satisfied with this response and heads out to work. SWIM is starting to feel a bit crazy and has so many thoughts racing in his head he can't keep track of things. At 9 AM he decides to call his girlfriend. SWIM tells her that he only took 4 pills to stay up to play his online games but they worked more than he expected them to. In fact this is partly true but, SWIM knows that he took the second and third batch to get higher and feel good. SWIM and his girlfriends have made a promise to stop abusing drugs. So swim lies about the dose but admits to the effects and tells his girlfriend he didn't mean to get high. SWIM is feeling very good about himself and doesn't care that he's lying. SWIM then gets off the phone with his girlfriend and at around 11 AM decides to take 3 more Concerta 36 mg tablets. He hasn't eaten all day but doesn't really care. SWIM then mows his lawn and is pushing an automatic-push lawnmower faster than it can go. When he is about finished with his lawn he starts feeling extreme heartburn. He finishes, goes inside, is breathing very hard, and drinks some lemonade. He drinks about 3 cups because he hasn't been drinking liquids all night and is dehydrated. SWIM then goes and takes 4 Tums to make the heartburn go away. He decides he's going to crash at an odd hour if he doesn't take more Concerta so he takes 2 more Concerta 36 mg tablets. SWIM notices it is 1:50 PM and that he has an AA meeting that he really needs to make it to on the other side of town at 2 PM. He gets in his car and drives like crackhead to the other side of the town. SWIM walks in the building and there are only 3 people currently there. SWIM is confused because usually there are at least 30 people there. He asks why no one is there and an alcoholic tells him that the meeting doesn't start till 2:30 PM. He gets some water and starts drinking it. He then goes outside and chain-smokes around 4 cigerettes. SWIM is asked to read the 12 traditions for the introduction of the meeting. While he's at the podium SWIM seems to be reading fine but looks down at his legs and they are shaking uncontrollably. He then spends the rest of the time listening to alcoholics and addicts talk about their life stories. SWIM then goes back home after the meeting. He is still feeling euphoric but not so much as his morning adventure. He plays online games until 6:30 PM when he goes to another AA meeting. When he gets home from that meeting he is obviously coming down and feeling very irritated. He doesn't feel tired at all even though he's been up nearly 36 hours in all. His girlfriend calls him at 9 PM and something seems wrong with her tone of voice. SWIM asks her if she thinks he got high on purpose. She admits she does and after 3-4 hours of an 'angry girlfriend and a cracked out coming down guy' argument he convinced her he didn't do it on purpose. Obviously we all know he did. So I point out with SWIM's case as proof that good things come out of excessive Methylphenidate use but bad things come also. You have to weigh it out and look at pro's and con's

Ps~SWIM took 11 Concerta 36 mg tablets within 3 hours. This adds up to 396 mg of Methylphenidate going through his body in a 8-12 hour period.
While all this was still going through him he took 5 more Concerta 36 mg tablets which adds an additional 180 mg of Methylphenidate slowly pumping into him. This all adds up to 16 Concerta 36 mg tablets and 576 mg of Methylphenidate pumping through him throughout 24 hours. SWIM's body weight is roughly 125 pounds.

swim canceled his adderall xr perscription becuase adderall sucks balls, swim thinks he has an anphetimine resistance or something becusae he didnt get anything out of it even at really high doses. but ritalin reminds swim of that time he had coke, amazingly smart and creative.

Yeah, SWIM has noticed at times that for him, adderall does not to do the justice other amphetamines/stimulants do.

Concerta for was awful to swim. They prescribed it to swim when swim was 15 and swim becamed depressed months after taking it. Things got worse when swim started "chomping", and crushing them.....bad shit, adderals stupid too.

SWIM is prescribed Concerta for ADHD and takes a 36mg dose daily, hopefully SWIM's experiences can be helpful to others in the same boat looking for potential recreational use.

1. Standard ingestion:

36mg - Heightened concentration, not alertness however - SWIM notices an ability to keep his train of thought for longer, if that makes any sense, increased motivation and better impulse control. Very occasional side effects can be feeling angry/irritated and listless

72mg - Exceptional concentration, very very apparent in a test environment, makes the process of thought more logical, a feeling of satisfaction and happiness (not euphoric). Also an aid during sports, SWIM finds he is much better at tennis and cricket and assumes it is because he can focus on the ball more easily and improve his hand/eye coordination. Side effects include slight cotton mouth, very easily irritated and a feeling of disillusionment.

108mg - Same concentration style effects as 72mg. Amphetamine-esque body rushes, chest and arms feel pleasantly tingly, a feeling of happiness but not euphoria. Comedown is not very nice, bad cotton mouth and feel very angry and a bit depressed.

2: Insufflation:

Method - SWIM first scrapes off the white outer coating (marked with alza36) this contains some methylphenidate and can be ingested if you so wish. After this you are left with the pill containing a brown half and peach/white half. Used a knife to cut the pill along the middle and peel the plastic-y coating around the white end. Place the peach/white half of the pill in a sandwich bag and crushed with a rolling pin. Snort.

36mg - No pain from railing it, drip doesn't taste bad, however the nose goes all gooey and you have to keep sniffing very hard to make it all go down which is quite unpleasant. Effects between 36 and 72 ingested however shorter lasting.

36mg insufflated + 36mg oral -SWIM prepared the orally taken dose for insufflation however did not grind it and just swallowed. Strong concentration and motivational effects, no euphoria.

SWIM has not tried any other dosage nasally.

In conclusion, SWIM thinks that Methylphenidate Concerta is a very useful study aid and it has a significant positive experience on his academic life, as well as being useful for curbing impulsiveness - ie, it has done what it was meant to do. However, in SWIM's experience is has been useless for recreational use, as in doses where notifiable effects have occurred there have been unpleasant side effects which outweigh the high.

Very sorry for the double post but I could not find anyway to edit or make an addition to my post - just want to make a quick addition:

SWIM has noticed what he believes to be a cross-tolerance to other stimulants. In his experience with Ecstasy (Double dropped, pills apparently contained 1:1 MDMA and Amphetamine) he noticed barely any effects, dilation of pupils occurred and he did indeed feel happy, but nothing like expected. Two friends also took an identical dose and were very much "loved up"/"pilled up".
