View Full Version : Drug info - Psychoactive chocolate drink
Well, most of you are going to laugh at this, but it is all true -
Psychoactive chocolate drinks? You have to use bakers chocolate and cocoa. Eating a pound of Hershey's will make you puke and feel shitty. However - Hershey's COCOA POWDER and BAKING CHOCOLATE can give you a langourous sense of relaxation and well-being if you do it right, and in a rather excessive quantity. This is not for the calorie conscious or the non-lover of chocolate. This is 12oz of the strongest cocoa you will ever taste. It is smokey, dark and bittersweet. Here's how to do it:
Make yourself some hot milk - about 8 oz. After you bring it to a boil, stop, and stir in enough cocoa powder to create a deep, rich, reddish brown color. Now saturate the solution with sugar. Next, add about 2 oz of cream. This should make the color much lighter. Add cocoa until it gets darker again. Now, heat it so that it is quite hot - don't let it boil again.
Now, stir in about 2oz of bakers chocolate and as much sugar as you want. This should make a very dark brown, somewhat soupy, sweet mess. Drink it slowly - sip it over the course of a half-hour, maybe an hour. Don't rush it. This prevents the unpleasant, sweaty feeling of nausea that I associate with eating 'too much' chocolate (as if there is a such thing!).
I usually begin to feel relaxed and comfortable and happy after about 30 minutes. This feeling builds over the next hour and then slowly fades. I'm not sure if this is because of the alkaloids in the chocolate, or if it is due to the MASSIVE endorphin release that is supposedly happening when you eat something sweet and tasty. Whatever it is, I enjoy it. It is a good time to just sit down and chill out, read the paper, talk to friends, type a friendly e-mail. It isn't a mind-blowing natural high, and it is not an entheogen by and stretch. It's just a good feeling that comes from something palatable and fun to make. Happy Cocoa-making.

Chocolate does contain theobromine which is mildly psychoactive so this probably will work, but I doubt it will amaze anyone.

theobromine is a xanthine alkaloid, and those suck, it's not psychoactive, it's just a body stimulant like caffeine and theophylline, you'll just shake like a motherfucker :D

No, it's calming unlike caffeine.

When i am feeling grumpy or sad, chocolate can make me feel better.
Sometimes i pour melted chocolate into hot coffee, adding pepper to this brew will even make it better.
cinnamon is also great to add, as well as anise/aniseed.
Cacao (like e.g. green tea and red wine) also contains strong anti-oxidizing compounds, which, to the advantage of one's health, eliminate harmful free radicals.

AS11, i can relate to you! http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/smileys/smiley32.gif
Being a chocoholic myself, i have discovered the wonderful effects of THEOBROMA CACAO (food of the gods) a long time ago. Aztec Indian people believed cacao was a gift from the gods, and so do i.
When i am feeling grumpy or sad, chocolate makes me feel much better (it is my anti-depressant), it makes me warm and comfortable, it give me euphoria when i eat enough (that is : a lot) of it, it stimulates me in a very nice way - when combined with dexamphetamine it gives me a very strong orgasm-like high, better than sex!, as i have mentioned before in the dutch section of this great website - however, i rarely combine
dex and cacao as i do want this combination to keep its potency http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif;
(i also rarely use dex on its own because i prefer to keep the receptors in my brain in good shape).
I also combine it with coffee, makes a great mix too, by the way, speaking about endorphin release in the brain, adding pepper to the cacao brew (or cocoa brew in english) will even make it better!
hot chili peppers also combine nicely in my opinionhttp://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif
cinnamon is also great to add, as well as anise/aniseed.
My favourite recipe: STRONG HOT coffee with a LOT of melted chocolate, milk and sugar added to taste, black pepper, anise and cinnamon!!! Absolutely delicious, and you will soon feel its heavenly effects...
hacnslash, chocolate is not JUST a body stimulant as it causes opiate response in the brain.
Scientific studies have revealed that chocolate contains cannabinoids and/or cannabinoid related chemicals like e.g. anandamide, a chemical that activates the same cellular receptors in the brain as THC does (the agent in marijuana smoke that causes a nice high).
Anandamide produces the same effects in animals as injections with THC.
Moreover, chocolate also contains N-oleoylethanolamine and N-linoleoylethanolamine, anandamide-like compounds that are probably even of more significance than anandamide; they seem to prolong the pleasurable sensations.
Cacao (like e.g. green tea and red wine) also contains strong anti-oxidizing compounds, which, to the advantage of one's health, eliminate harmful free radicals.
Conclusion: chocolate surely does NOT "suck"
Wow *Runs to the store to buy alot of chocolate*.Edited by: AS11
yes indeed, i'll be on my way to the supermarket soon because i have ran out of chocolate- AGAIN http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/smileys/smiley7.gif

AS11, are you male or female? i am male, as you would have guessed from my name...
your name doesn't give me a clue...
i would like to know because i've noticed that many people in western cultures regard it somewhat strange for a man to crave for chocolate, according to them it is taboo for a man to admit to his desire for chocolate...
as if chocolate indulgence were only for women...
well, i can only say one thing to narrow-minded uptight folk like that and it is going to be explicit: f*ck you!
You wrote about Hershey(s), that is an american brand, right?
Are you from the USA? (If you would prefer not to say I would respect that of course)Edited by: george
Caffeine and Theobromine are almost the same exept the fact that Theobromine contains less Carbon and Hydrogen.
Chocolate also contains serotonin, histamine, salsolinol, methyltetrahydroisoquinoline, phenethylamine, telemethylhistamine, spermidine, p-tyramine,3-methyloxytyramine, tryptamine, and spermine. Not much but if youeata VERY concentrated chocolate/cocoa then you will definatly feel them.

O yes it is HIGH ly addictive, but then again there are far more serious possibly life-threatening things you could get addicted to, aren't there?
The next is off-topic: i've just read your question about sniffing/smoking coffee!
Goodness gracious dude, did you really do that?
eek!!! http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/smileys/smiley7.gif

If you're eating chocolate for psychoactive effects, get dark stuff - the darker the better. A full bar of that '99% cocao solids' type is enough for the effects.

Theobromine is believed to be the drug responsible for chocolates psychoactive effects. You can buy theobromine containing diet pills, just search for it on google. The effects are said to be stimulating, but calmer than caffiene and more on the euphoric side. I would never eat enough chocolate to get the effects though, otherwise I would buy those theobromine diet pills for they're intended purpse.
Another thing, many people claim that chocolate contains caffiene. I have seen many sources claim that there is absolutely no caffiene in chocolate and it is only an additive in chocolate bars and such. Serotonin is also in chocolate, but it has no effect since it does not pass the blood/brain barrier.

I've searched the internet for this chocamine stuff: it is said to be a cocoa extract, for the calorie conscious. (a food supplement) It is expensive: 12 dollars.
Cocoa powder is cheaper, contains less fat than chocolate, therefore less calories, and has fewer carbohydrates than chocolate as well.
So you may try cocoa powder instead of "chocamine".
I've noticed that ordinary cocoa powder also has an appetite decreasing effect.
In order to be able to notice these effects i have to use about 2 tablespoons full of regular cocoa powder (what a lot!) in a mug, which makes up for a strong powerful cocoa drink (be sure to serve hot: add water, milk or orange juice). If i use less cocoa, the effects are negligible.
WARNING: this much is unbearable for people who don't like chocolate. (suitable for chocolate freaks only: the sheer force http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/smileys/smiley11.gif of it may cause vomiting...)

Nope, I drank a 2 table spoon cocoa powder (added 4 teaspoons of sugar) and it wasn't so strong.. Infact, I didn't feel any effects (Well.. A little) and I still had an appetite (Probably because my body is used to chocolate because I ate LOTS of it when I was little).Edited by: AS11
you can't compare regular cocoa powder with a powerful extract like chocomine. Try chocomine and you will not be disappointed, after all it's alot more potent than refined chocolate powder Edited by: tinogsx
you could also get some 99% chocolate. I know Lindt makes that. VERY bitter, but hardcore. that'll help you in your choco research

Can you make it at home (I don't care about the taste and how smooth it'll be)?
I've no clue, I guess not. I just get mine at the supermarket...
you can check out the lindt website, but it seems they don't sell over 85% in the USA, must be a tastebud thing...

I have never ever vomited from cocoa or chocolate whatsoever, and I'm happy about that, cuz I dont like vomiting.Edited by: george

Chocamine is good. And it is not expensive, George. Maybe you didn't search the internet well enough?
Recommended dose is 1 gram,
that makes it only a few cents a dose, hardly expensive stuff.
Even if you take a megadose of 2-4 grams like tinogsx does, that still
puts it at a cheap price. Shit man, you could
sell pencils on the street corner, or beg for pennies at the freeway
on-ramp, and still afford this stuff.
And even cheaper by the dose if you buy it in the 500 grams tub.
Pretty energizing and euphoric, and beats the hell out of choking down
all that chocolate, and healthier for you too. And also a hell of
a lot cheaper than buying the quantities of chocolate you guys are
talking about choking down in one sitting.

well i'll tell you anyway, i smoked a little bit once, cacao powder, and when i inhaled i had an extremely short buzz-sorta thing, but only like a fraction of a second, and nothing special anyway. after that i just had a headache
I tried this today, put about 8 heaped teaspoons of cocoa powder into hot milk and then stirred in 2 squares of baking chocolate+loads of sugar. I couldn't stomach the very end of the mug, so I threw it out, and I didn't think it would have a massive effect especially since a lot of the cocoa sank to the bottom anyway and I didn't drink it, but I've been extremely relaxed and haven't gotten bored for 6 hours now, really nice feeling, but I'm a virgin to most drugs so I wouldn't know about mind blowing experiences :P

Didn't the aztecs make a strong sort of cocoa? I know i do :D Melt the darkest chocolate you can find in some half and half, add more cocoa powder, add a piece of jalapeno and some cinnamon and cardamom, and bam. Pound it for a quick buzz, followed by some interesting psychological effects. At least for me it makes me more creative and a bit more quick thinking, which is odd because usually things that are high in caffiene make me piss a lot and feel extremely drowsy and not much in the stimulating realm.

Would there be some way to eat another food with the chocolate to act as a "potentiator"? Or perhaps something that inhibits the enzyme which metabolises the psychoactive compounds in chocolate.
