Hello.
My problem is that recently I've been feeling extra depressed [right up
to the point when I begin fantasising about shooting everyone around me
and sometimes about just killing myself.] I've recently realised that
for the past few months I have been quickly getting myself out of
conversations with people and hiding away by myself. This has gotten to
the point where I will avoid people that I really like and now whenever
some of my friends from the past see me, they purposely ignore me. Even
though I want to go and talk to people, trying to patch up friendships,
etc, I find that I am actually too scared of them to do so, which is
ridiculous.
Anyway, this is a real hassle on my life, especially since I am a
student and need to work well with other people in my area of choice.
So, does anyone know what the deal is with this, if there is anything I can take to help me?

See a doc/psychiatrist about social anxiety. Tell them exactly
what you just said here, and they will be able to help you.
Benzos or SSRIs are commonly used to help these types of disorders.
Are you on prescribed meds? If so which? How intense was your drug use in the last 6 months? Name which drugs you had. What issues are you walking around with? You can also pm me if you want.

Thanks a lot, I'll go talk to my GP. Hopefully he doesn't get me thrown awayhttp://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif
I currently have no prescriptions, but the drugs I can remember doing in the last 6 months are:
Heroin
LSD
Mescaline
Marijuana
Alcohol
Nicotine
DMT
DXM
Ritalin
One of the problems is that I really don't have any importantly bad
issues right now, so I don't see why I suddenly [or suddenly noticed]
how I feel.
Thanks again for all the help, I'll make an appointment with my GP now.
EDIT: I made an appointment with a student counsellour at my
university. I think I'll try just talking before taking meds, since it
worked well with a little depression I had about a year ago.

do not tell your doctor you had thoughts of harming other people or even yourself, if he thinks there is a chance you might, he could have you put in a hospital for a few days for a psychiatric evaluation. that is not something someone like you needs. also don't talk about your drug use, at least just say you drink sometimes and used to smoke weed but it made you extremely paranoid. seriously man take my advice, it sounds like you have severe anxietry disorder, don't worry you can get a prescription for something like valium or xanax, and you will be able to function, (work and school) as well as feeling better about yourself. also when you are being productive that helps. it you have anxiety disorder i would reccommend stay away from psychedelics

But I love psychedelicshttp://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif
Well my appointment with my counsellour isn't until next bloody wednesday so I'll think about how much I'll tell him.
Thanks.

Well, after seeing a counsellour, I feel that counselling will not
help. This is unfortunate. I guess I'll wait for the government to
recognise my right as a student to see a doctor about this for free [or
cheap] and go see one.
Your GP will probly not be comfratable perscribing drugs for depretion/anxiety. A phyciatrist will be able to write you the scripts for the drugs that can help you if you choose to take them.

I doubt I can afford a Psychiatrist. I guess my prescription drug can just be good old alcoholhttp://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif

Umm...alcohol is a bad idea if you are suffering from depression. Alcohol acts first on the central nervous system as a stimulant - and then rebounds as a depressant. Bad idea for someone suffering depression.
Positive side of the coin is that the majority of depressions lift by themselves after a few weeks time. Everyone goes through this. Just some folks more often than others. The most important thing to do is stay away from any drug that acts to mess with your serotonin. This includes XTC (MDMA), LSD, 2-CI, the whole family of major psychedelics and entactogenics. As well as speed and piperazines.
Many times a depression is a warning signal from your personal unconscious mind. This is the part of your psyche that communicates to you through dreams. If you have been drinking/using drugs that interfere with your REM sleep-cycle, this can trigger a depression. You would be blocking a message trying to get through to you in the form of a dream - steeped in the strange language of symbolism inherent in such. So if you are drinking/drugging and not sleeping/dreaming - knock it off for awhile. Take vitamins. Eat. And go to bed at a reasonable time for awhile. This may well negate your needing to go beg a prescription for an SSRI off a shrink.

I know.
I use alcohol to get over social fear. I can have a dozen beers, go out
to the pub and have no real problems. If my heart starts racing or I
start sweating, I just use breathing techniques. Also, the depression
won't go away in a few weeks since I've been depressed as long as I can
remember [and received help for it before.] It's just that lately it's
been REALLY bad [as in I haven't left my house in a few days except to
see a counsellour.] This is really interupting with my University work.
My counsellour did tell me to stop smoking pot and snorting speed [the
two drugs I told him about.] So I'll give the drugs a rest as soon as
this BZP wears off.
Cheers.
My suggestion is to move to a country where the government actually
cares about you and doesn't make you break the bank (or be completely
incapable due to lack of funds) to get help for health related
issues. Human health should be far above bills with dead
presidents on them. Anyways, have you thought about the
possibility of these symptoms coming out of some of your recent drug
incursions?
I notice you've taken DXM and DMT, both of which can be complete
dissociatives. Perhaps at one point of one of your trips your
unconcious brought out a thought or aspect of your life that you may
have had buried either conciously or unconciously (peoples brains can
do odd things to prevent trauma, such as giving the person temporary
amnesia of a time period around an extremely traumatic event, sometimes
these memories can only be retrieved while in an altered state).
I think its worth investigating, ideally with a psychiatric, if you can
confront and solve whatever issue this may be (if any at all), then you
wouldn't need to take meds to feel better. Obviously something
has happened recently that has made you relapse into this mental state
and I think your absolute priority should be in figuring out what, and
how to deal with it. Good luck on this journey, and I hope you
succeed in this journey :).
